Our Take

30 x 48.5 cm is the classic map-case size — big enough for a folded topo map, small enough to strap to a pack or chest rig. Nylon with PVC is the right material combo for water resistance: the PVC does the waterproofing, the nylon does the abrasion resistance. 150 g is light. Two honest notes: ‘waterproof’ depends on the closure — a roll-top or sealed flap is watertight, a plain zip is merely damp-resistant, and the listing doesn’t say which; and folding a waterproof case repeatedly can crack cheap PVC over time. For keeping a map dry in a pack, it’s a practical, cheap piece of kit.
